Backstory: we've known each other for over 10 years (since high school) we've dated off and on (broken up mutually due to school, travel, etc.) we are now both 27 and dated pretty seriously for 6 months until she lost her job and was an emotional wreck. She broke it off but then came back 3 months later saying she just needed time but misses me. and now we are back together..

It's been about 4 months now. Things have been better than ever! we never get in fights or arguments, we are always laughing, having the best time when we hang out (usually 2-3 times a week) we honestly bring out the best in each other and we both have said that. we talk on the phone for a good amount of time when we can't hang. Last week she went out to Vancouver for a work retreat - she texted and called a lot while she was there, said she missed me, and even said she wanted to thank me for always being so supportive and making her feel special. The last two days she was there was a very emotional because they did a lot of "exercises" and sessions of therapy to bring out deep rooted emotions.

She came back a little off and she admitted she still is harboring a lot of anger and feelings regarding the death of her father (he passed away about 4 years ago). She said she has spent the past few years always depending on other people and isn't feeling 100% complete. She went to therapy the morning she got back and realizes she needs to continue going to therapy. She kept saying she really wants to be in a relationship with me but doesn't know if she can give what I need. we sat there for an hour and I listened to everything she had to say - after it all she said "wow I honestly thought you were going to shut me out and tell me to fuck off". she then later said "I honestly didn't think you were going to be this open to listening to my problems, and I didn't plan on telling you everything that was discussed with my therapist" I told her I'm not ready to lose her and want to be supportive of this. We continued the conversation by talking about other stuff and I had her laughing and smiling all night long. She kept saying things like "oh and we should do this" and "when this movie comes out we should go see it". Making future assumptions.

This was only two days ago but she is still blowing up my phone and we have plans to hangout Monday or Wednesday (work dependent) I want to tell her:

"I'm not here to replace anyone, or here to change or fix you. I'm here to love and support you. That's it. I love you and I'm not the type of person to give up when the going get tough. We literally bring the best out in each other. Maybe this isn't meant to be easy? Maybe this will never be perfect or the right time? Every relationship will face their fair share of problems and adversities. But I'm not going to bail on you."

I know she is going through a lot and is afraid to be the burden on me. I will never understand what she is going through and maybe that's the point - I never will understand. She is afraid of causing any hardships between us because the man she only ever needed left when she wasn't done needing him. I know she will need space but I think this is the time she needs to know I'm her rock, her mountain.

What do you guys this? Anyone ever face something like this?
