Started dating a 19yo in college this time last year. Things were going great but I quickly found out she was dumped by her bf of 3+ years in high school who she was in love with.
We dated for about a month and she’s telling me how much she is into me and likes hanging out with me, and our sex was really good and nasty. Throughout the relationship she talks about how much her ex hurt her and was an asshole, dumped her to go to a frat in a different state, and then one day she texts me and says she doesn’t think it’s going to work out, out of nowhere.
I tried everything to save the relationship, I was pretty into her and got oneitis. She completely flipped, said I was psycho and to let her go. I saw she got back on tinder, she blocked me and I contacted her friends and did some things I shouldn’t of, even contacted her ex to badmouth her. I got over it about two months after the breakup.
Fast forward 9 months later, and I made a second Instagram one evening to contact her and see how she was doing. She said she’d be open to talking, but I didn’t see her message until the morning, and by then she blocked me again? So I said whatever and forgot about it.
Fast forward to three months after that, or a year since I first got involved with her, and I run into her on campus. We make awkward eye contact in the bookstore, and go out separate ways. I then run into her again a week ago on campus and say hi as I skate past her. She follows me and asks if I want to talk. I said sure, but I was going to class and just asked her about how she was doing and wished her the best. She said she wasn’t doing good, and threw a bunch of negativity around, saying that she got in a bad car crash and her dog has a seizure, that life is so terrible for her. I again wished her the best and left. This was about a week ago, and I was expecting to run into her again to talk more in depth about what had happened between us, assuming we both matured from who we were at that time. I made a different Instagram and messaged her today, saying that just because we didn’t get to talk for long didn’t mean that I didn’t want to talk. She saw the message and blocked the account.
This girl will give signals to engage in person, but on social she is shut down. Her Twitter is either all about wishing she was in love or that she is depressed and mentally confused with where she’s at in life. I keep running into her friends and family on campus and around town.
Tomassi’s book The Rationale Male talks about this as being grade A oneitis, but I’m looking for other people’s opinion on this situation, who she is as a person, and how I can best handle it? Since first running into her on campus in a year I got a little depressed, after a year of fucking whoever, lifting, and being confident. I think she’s cute and wish we could talk like adults, maybe have some of that really good sex again. She’s naïve as they come, controlled by emotional impulse, but has a really nice car her parents bought her, a big butt, 5ft3”, tits, a cute face, and all around fun body.
