Think people back in the renaissance. The woman really isn't particularly interested in the man, they probably have been eye-ing the minstrel. But the man sends her flowers, gifts, courts her and by chance they lay/marry.
I've done similar but it feels like "investment". However, this actually got me a close. I'd text hey, do you like this, oh this is how I actually skate, look I made this for you! - Only to get, wow that's cool! reply. But on some cases, these interactions would last weeks/months and by chance I'd actually close. Meeting-up consistently also actually helps.
Is it their skill or lack of social skill when communicating? I'd like to invest or just give to make someone's live better. But sometimes it feels like I'm just a nice guy proving himself that my investments are worth it or something.
I don't mind if they reply generic or blank. I've turned acquaintances into friends and into fwb etc.. for the long term. But in the beginning, the 50/50 unsure if she considers me a x or y drains my energy.
Am confusing investment with giving? Or should I just be more straightforward until she shuts me off?
