Looking for some resources to further my knowledge. Recently read “Positive Masculinity”, I felt like someone tapped in my brain and said, you need this. I was right.
Some context, been married 10 years. I was the Alpha that swept my wife off her feet. She’d been dating some Beta control freak and I was liberating for her. I had been a beta control freak myself in the past and knew I had to change to get the kind of girl I wanted. Things were awesome. I was always the hero, she was always sexy and great to be around.
We found out we were expecting our first child, and she fell into pre-natal depression, which morphed into post-partum depression and literally completely changed.
Her change in response to situations, her change in behaviors, everything really through me for a loop. I in turn after almost a year finally started responding to her differently unintentionally. I lost my patience. I lost my swagger. I just became deflated.
I suffered from depression and returned to normal, she has since 5 years later beat depression but things are still off. We have had glimpses of having our mojo back, but it’s pretty glaring now our roles are all fucked up.
She’s said things in the past about wanting to feel taken care of, and she has a dom kink. Sometimes I feel like I’m hitting the mark, but sometimes I don’t.
After reading the book over the last few days it’s clear where I can improve, but I am open to advice to make an immediate impact and get my relationship back on course.
I am hoping it’s not too far gone, definitely willing to put in work.
Thanks
