Starting off with some context I'm a 21 y.o male back on my regiment after going full BP for a few months. It's safe to say I'm still a beginner but not a complete novice. Fit and attractive but always bound to failure with my white knight mindeet is how I found this sub, that story is for another day

I wanted to talk about overworking yourself. Almost every post has a "don't kill yourself" clause but in many cases the posts are these walls of insightful information and leave a small note about not overdoing, this is why I'm focussing on this

The ten precepts of karate by Anku Itosu is a fantastic piece of dogma and I strongly recommend reading it if Bushido resonates with you. I bring this up looking at number 9 " 9. If you use up your strength to excess in karate training, this will cause you to lose the energy in your lower abdomen and will be harmful to your body. Your face and eyes will turn red. Be careful to control your training." Now we here at RP like to use our pain as an indicator of growth and I agree, yet we also need to ensure that we are not being counter-productive with this. Yes a hard-core work ethic is what we're preaching here but you should still be able to enjoy yourself, don't skip meditation to do more push ups when your chest burns like hell already. I saw somebody say on the trp improvement thread "worrying about what you eat too much is being a bitch" (thankfully he was downvoted to hell) No actually you yourself are worrying about being a bitch too much

Tl;Dr : stop and evaluate where you should REASONABLY stop

There can certainly be too much of a good thing
