This has actually happened to me a few weeks ago, and it's time to stop.

Looking back on it, and reading some of the articles in here helped me find out a lot of interesting points that I'd like to put out there. So let me tell you what happened.

I work as a part-time Starbucks barista in some European city for a couple of months now. Here, when they notice that your coffee-making skills and coffee theory knowledge aren't enough, they'd send you to some Starbucks coffeeshop where you'd get a proper training from a coffee master or someone who's knowledgeable and can help. The Starbucks coffeeshop they usually send trainees to is a coffeeshop that's located in a chilly part of the city where not a lot of customers come on daily basis. Most of them are students who're there just for studying.

So I went to that Starbucks to train for 2 weeks and I had 4 shifts. There were no customers whatsoever, that we found time to do everything, and since I'm a magician, I tried to perform some magic tricks to some customers to "make their experience better" and that kind of Starbucks bullshit.

One of the fortunate customers that I did magic tricks to was a guy who was accompanied by his girlfriend. This girlfriend also has a friend who's equally hot and the latter didn't have any company so I assumed she is single.

So at the hand-off, I did the guy and his girlfriend some magic and after my shift ended, I joined them and did magic trick to the other girl.

After finishing with my tricks which left all of them totally fucking amazed, the girl gave me shit like, "How did you learn that? I know what you did. It's not magic. It's just illusion. Just some cheap tricks here and there that you've probably learnt on YouTube".

To tell you the truth guys, I'm an anxious potato. I was already shaking when I did the tricks to them, but I'm kinda used to it so I nailed them at the end, but when she threw that shit at me, I was shaking and sweating and even reddened, but that didn't prevent me from saying something in the lines of "Yet for all of that, you still fell for them."

That was a blatant shit test which I have successfully passed. The guy and his girlfriend kept talking to me about stuff and it was really interesting, but this is where I had fucked up.

I should have at least asked the guy to hang out together sometime just as buds because he was cool, and from there make my way through to the girl, but I fucked up in that I just goodbyed them and went on my way. Or I should have kept it going with the girl because I could tell she was also nervous talking to me not being able to take her eyes off me. She clearly liked me, but I was too dumb to do something about it. But anyways.

After I walked out of the coffeeshop, I haven't seen the guy ever again. And after approximately one month, I started going to that Starbucks just to study and to get the free drinks.

When I started going there though, right on my first time, the other girl and I met, but it was so fucking awkward as we just looked to each other and smiled and literally did nothing.

At this point, I had so many doubts in my mind which made me so nervous that I couldn't do anything. Like it's been a while now, maybe she's not interested anymore... Etc etc.

However, after a month of that shit, just noticing each other's presence and doing nothing, I finally had gathered enough courage to finally approach her with her friends. They usually study in groups.

I literally interrupted a conversation they were having just to show her another magic trick, and it's needless to mention that I was so fucking nervous, I have almost fucked my magic trick.

However, I was met with positive energy. Her friends liked me, and she remembered me as "that magician from a while back!"

After finishing the tricks to her and her friends, we had a small talk and then I just looked at her and said, "I think that you're cute, and we should definitely hang out sometime next week".

A guy at the table felt uncomfortable and a girl giggled in disbelief. The targeted girl redenned and smiled then mumbled something to which I asked her pardon, and then said, "Okay, maybe".

So far, so good. I added her on Facebook and texted her that night but she didn't reply until after 2 days with "Hey, I have to admit that your tricks are very impressive and that I'm flattered that you asked me out and that you look like a nice guy and all, but I have to decline because I'm really not interested. Sorry!".

She actually was very nice in rejecting me and I liked her even more, and then I just responded that if she changed her mind, shell know where to find me, to which she just didn't say anything.

And again, I think I did the right thing.

But this is the part where I really and truly fuck shit up to the max and now there is no return.

After 2 days, I was sitting as Starbucks as usual, and she came in. She put her back on her seat and then walks to place her order. On her way to there, she had to pass by me. And here's where I truly fucked up.

I got so fucking nervous at her sight that I was shaking and sweating so fucking hard. And when she walked by me, I could tell that she was looking at me and smiling, but guess what? I just didn't look at her and pretended that she doesn't exist.

What I should have done instead was just sitting back, looking at her and smilingly saying, "Hey, how you doing?"

But no. Ignoring her proved that I'm weak and can't do anything, and that completely turned her off.

Now we still meet on Starbucks to study, but no eye contact whatsoever is exchanged and it's like we don't even exist in each other's worlds.

Guys, what do you think I should do to overcome that anxiety in the presence of girls? And how can I use magic to pick up guys?
