The one from 2001 where a man (played by Jack Black) is hypnotized by a New Age guru into seeing women the way they see themselves.

Gwyneth Paltrow plays his morbidly-obese girlfriend. But in most of the scenes she is Paltrow-thin - the way he sees her (in a few scenes we see her in a fat suit).

Despite the stars it only grossed 70M. And, clearly, Hollywood put the script through a feminism conversion. Rosemary is made so overweight chairs break when she sits on them. Then, at the end, his vision is restored and he does not leave her. Really.

Not just Black's stupidity but men's alleged superficiality is pounded into the viewer. There is even a scene where his buddy turns down a date with a gorgeous woman to a Beatles reunion because the woman's 2nd toes are a longer than her big toes!

The movie is called Shallow Hal, which is just so massively dishonest it has got to be some kind of redpill or MRA landmark.

I imagine most women viewers blamed her for being that fat, and found the whole plot unfair (since then Paltrow has become the most hated Hollywood actor by polls). And male viewers surely found the ending ludicrous. Both of these responses would have been predictable.

Suppose it had been made differently. Suppose it had been made about a woman maybe 15 pounds overweight. Her boyfriend is hypnotized and to him she looks like a supermodel. But after his hypnotic state is lifted they still marry, because Hal is a normal guy!

With Black & Paltrow that movie would have grossed 500M but would not have promoted feminism.
