Exhibit A.

Self-centered killjoy Anita Sarkeesian is conflating internet anonymity with Gamer-based movement of harassment/hateful misogyny.

Look lady, just because you made yourself a target, doesn't mean you can assign the anonymous harassment you receive from teenage pranksters to half the world: Men. Or even a fraction of the world: Gamers.

Now, anyone on TRP who is a Gamer, put down the x-box controller and pick up the dumbbells.

And, she won't do it in a logical way either. Just look at these hamster quotes.

Completely absolutist generalization:

"Men and women are attacked online differently," she says. "Men are usually embarrassed, it's an insult, and it's usually one time. When women are attacked, it's violent threats, it's sexual harassment, and it's sustained over time. So we can see that reporting on social media is created for the way men are harassed."

"There's one guy who makes new accounts every day to harass me. What do you do to stop that? There's that one guy, and there are thousands of other people like him," Sarkeesian says.

I don't get it, is there one guy or a thousand? What the fuck, lady? Can you speak in intelligible sentences?

Sarkeesian notes that tech and legal changes can't be the only answers — there also has to be greater cultural sensitivity to the issue, especially among authority figures.

"Women are still afraid to go to the police with stories of rape and abuse, and now we're afraid to go to the police saying, 'I got this death threat from email or Twitter,' because the police will look at you and say, 'What's Twitter?'" she said. "I've had a cop say to me, 'Why don't you just quit your job? Why don't you just stop doing what you're doing?'"

Really? Are they afraid to go to police about abuse? If they are, then they're apparently content taking the abuse. If they're not content with it, they will appeal to... authorities? Oh, wait... the authorities aren't "culturally sensitive"... and that makes sense, how, in what respect to abuse? Is abuse a cultural issue?

"Earlier this year, Sarkeesian published just a sample of the kinds of tweets directed at her in a single week. They included a hope that "every feminist has their head severed from their shoulders," variations on "I will rape you" and "kill yourself," and lots of "fuck you" and "dumb cunt" and "bitch" and "slut." Sarkeesian is alternately called a "Jew bitch," an "Arab bitch," and a "Paki.""

Hmmm.. Maybe she should stop bringing the torment on herself, rather than complain about bringing it on herself?

Writes one, "Endless abuse? Really? Some people were mean to you on the internet. That's abuse now. #firstworldproblems"

... I'd say that's a fair assessment.

Says another, "@femfreq is a liar, a thief, a professional scam artist, professional Victim, and a coward. I'd say grow a pair, but, ahahah, you can't."

... Technically that is a reasonable statement.

"U are just jelly because guys give all the attention to the pretty girls and none to you. Stay classy." Another says, "she need to go make a damn sandwich and shut up."

... I could argue with that, but why would I? I want a sandwich too.

There's more bullshit in this article than I could shake my stick at.

But, I'll leave it with this. She is refusing to let up, because she apparently appreciates the attention. Much the way that some more-insane-than-average women have a pathological appreciation any attention, even if it's abuse.

"If you were like, 'Would you do it again?' I would say yes," Sarkeesian says. "Is it worth it? Is this kind of abuse worth it for anything? I don't know. I think that it just is. This just is my life. There is no time machine, there is no going back, I'm not giving up, I'm not going to stop what I'm doing."

Hmm.. Well, Anita, there is a simple solution, if you'd like to stop receiving this attention from the international hordes of basement dwelling teennage neckbeards. I don't know if you've thought of this before, but here it is:

Just shut the fuck up. Pretty simple, easy solution.

I think her ego and the spotlight are just too important for her though. She refuses to fade out... Even though it would solve the exact problem that she claims to have.

This article sums it up nicely:

She’s used the misogynistic backlash directed at her (because she released these highly opinionated and controversial videos in the first place) to become an expert on Internet harassment; in fact, her current “fame” (I use the term lightly here) is primarily the result of this backlash, manufactured by poking the large dogs that are 4chan and Reddit with a long stick.

More concise and amusing is this one from Encyclopedia Dramatica:

"Feminist Frequency is a web show hosted by professional scam artist Anita Sarkeesian who is a feminazi and a "pop culture critic" with whore earrings who complains about sexism in video games (which she doesn't play) on Jewtube channel using "Let's Play" footage that she stole.

"Most of her money is made by pissing off nerds until they send her death threats (or sending them to herself), going on the news about it and then asking for donations from her white knights and fellow SJWs who don't realize they're being taken for a ride. "

Honestly, I don't know why I am posting this, other than to vent on the stupidity of this lady essentially asking from abuse from a community that simply wants her to keep her out of it.

Interestingly, this lady may be completely, or near completely full of shit-- Again, these sources that elevate her bullshit are going entirely on her word alone.

Some folks have actually investigated whether or not threats against her are real.

" many individuals were highly skeptical of the threats due to the fact that they were sent near the release of her latest video in the “Tropes Vs. Women In Video Games” series, and her request for financial support immediately following them."

This page features at least two people who claim to have checked with San Francisco Police Department about her threats-- one even provides a screenshot of an email response from them. Apparently SFPD has no record of her contacting them about the claimed threats.

Anyways, I suppose I am curious about TRP's take on whether there is any evidence behind continous harassment against Sarkeesian. I suppose a couple of bored panskters may harass her continously, but I am skeptical that there is an entire movement of continous harassers...
