I'm normally too lazy to post a long ass field report but I'm home sick with a cold and got nothing better to do:

Every day after work my neighbor Jason and I meet up to go work out. we alternate between shooting basketball at an apartment complex and lifting weights. The thing about these apartments is that the basketball competition is way better than what we can find anywhere near where we live. We live in a different part of town with a lot fewer black people. But it's different in the apartment complex. There are a bit more blacks and in shape college students. Since we're both black, we blend right in.

Sometimes there are a few ladies that spectate the games. They can get a little flirty. One time a woman brought baby oil and started massaging my shoulders without even asking me. This doesn't really relate much to the story It's mainly there to highlight the fact that black women (in America) are very susceptible to alpha traits. I guess I'm stroking my ego too. Bite me.

The story is really about my friend Jason. You see, for the longest time, he didn't even exist according to these women. They wouldn't acknowledge him. He's everything they claim they want in a black man. He's (somewhat) fit, went to a top school, has a master's degree in engineering, Never went to jail, doesn't have any kids etc. but it has no effect.

One day, while we're watching football he tells me he's thinking about getting a Corvette. I advised him against it telling him all the financial downfalls of getting a car that expensive and yada yada. But Jason is dead set on it. Fine. He gets a new corvette a few days later. It was insane watching him at the basketball court. The women were all over him. Now they were interested in him. He went from having no SMV to shattering the SMV scale.

So I went and did what any good friend would do and told the ladies he had a girlfriend. That did not deter them. Then he later admitted she's not black. For the most part everyone just took it in stride making wisecracks about stereotypes and what not. One woman, however, took it very personally. You could see the look of disgust written on her face. She went on a rant about black men not being loyal to their own kind and a bunch of other BS. This woman. Never so much as glanced in Jason's direction before that day. But now that he had made a sound blip on her radar she "deserved" a man like him and he was a sellout for dating a Persian woman.

" you're ugly anyways". She said this. I'm not making this up. "at least she's not white". As if that's somehow relevant.

I mentioned the fact that my fiancee is black. "but you don't have a corvette". That shallowness and sheer stupidity on full display right there. Apparently the car you drive determines how much money you have and I still drive the same jeep from high school.
