Women trying to stick up for her, saying it wasn't the car it's that he lied about the car. They neglect the fact that he opened with lie, saying he just moved from antarctica. He lied again right after, saying he had penguins at home. She still agreed to go for a ride after those lies, so why is lying about a car any different? Well, we know why.
