Women is a team leader for 2 years and hasn't learned to lead yet. After numerous problems with male underlings a 'bully' shows up which apparently is too much to handle for her.

I'm a team leader where I work and being tiny and young (I became a lead when I was 19 years old), I often come across men who find it difficult to report to me.

I've been able to handle it for the past few years, however recently this guy who works in my team has constantly been at war with me. I recently raised a formal complaint on him, related only to a serious mistake he had made at work. He was very offended and even threatened to make my life worse at work (he passed this message to me via another colleague). He's now been smart enough to subtly plant doubts about my efficiency in my supervisors' minds, so my credibility is pretty much at stake here.

I don't want to get back at him but it's hard to keep a cool head. Do I just let it go? Just, how do I handle this?
