I'm not a city guy here and I know that sheep get sheared and all that I just didn't think anyone would take pride in it to the point of having people remember who they were for doing it. To me this reads like praising the fastest janitor for his awesome mopping speeds. It's just another job here. I mean no disrespect to you claude I just didn't know.

Shearers have a kind of special place in Australian mythology.

I just think it's tragic the guy fucked his back up, felt he had nothing else to live for and essentially off'ed himself.
