I vote that we sticky this and posts like it with the addendum that these sites are best used as a paid publicity service. You bribe the attractive girl to go out with you on the condition that she take a bunch of "candid" photos with you.

The only problem is, many betas will be clueless about this.

Of course, people have been using this strategy for awhile. This will only escalate the arm's race. Pretty soon every nerd will figure out to do this and all of Facebook will be littered with pictures of a nerd putting his arm around a smiling hottie.

The whistle has been blown on this one for awhile. Every time I look at a picture of a guy with his arm around a girl that he posts on a social media site, I think to myself, "This guy is trying to show women that women like him, but who knows whether or not these women are actually his friends, fuck-buddies, or complete strangers." I'm pretty sure women are clued into this as well. If they see a guy who looks like a total derp around a bunch of hot girls, they're still going to think the guy is a derp who got his picture taken with a bunch of hot girls. It's kind of like the guy who lines up to have his picture taken with a porn-star or a actress, and then posts it on his blog.

Of course, getting your picture taken with celebrities and other notables is considered a sound social advancement strategy. That information is available in books, and is all over the internet.

Finally, it is pretty common knowledge that most people do NOT act on the information and knowledge they have. Once people get into certain habits, most will not change them. I believe the Duke of Wellington referred to habit as "second nature," or maybe even "superior to nature."

So once beta nerds get into the habit of being cowardly and passive, most will not come out of their shell. And even if they do, who cares? Plenty of fish in the sea. Plus, carousel-riding sluts have a broad service capacity, so buck up.
