I ask you, what is the difference between these characters? Both are power hungry, both are sadistic, almost playful killers when confronted. Ramsey and Drogo both rape a young girl on their wedding night. Both seek total power and control and will destroy everyone in their path to take it.
Why then, is one character universally reviled, while the other has become a sex symbol for masses of women?
Simple, the inferiority complex. Ramsey acts like he does because he wants to prove to everyone how powerful he is. Drogo acts like he does because he knows how powerful he is. Drogo sees himself as better than others so he doesn’t care about those he trampled upon. Ramsey is simply imitating a Drogo archetype. He doesn’t lift, he’s short, and he is weirdly effeminate. He is the Hollywood archetype of an incel. Drogo is an alpha, simple as that.
What is the lesson to learn from these dichotomous characters? When you are about to do something, whether you are maintaining your frame or in the break room at work, think to yourself “am I doing this because I AM better or Because I want to be seen as better” there is a subtle difference that we can learn from.
