I'll start with a little background so that you can understand my question: when I was in my early days as a teenager and starting to notice girls, I was quite shy and reserved and having a massive crush on a classmate, I researched the internet for solutions. I came across the - at the time - PUA community. Took a lot of knowledge from them, applied a lot, developed my own style and generally had been quite successful in my seductions both socially and sexually. That was happening almost 15 years ago.
And while overall I am fairly charming, I still encounter issues and resistance. Yet today one of the oddest things happened to me. As I am trying to rent out my apartment, I ran into a potential female tenant. While I know this sub is mostly about guys dominating the girl-guy dynamic, my potential tenant showed up with her mom. But her mom had such a commanding presence that I instantly turned into a bumbling idiot (she was old and ugly so not due to instant attraction).
Furthermore, my roommate (girl), when I invited her to greet our potential new roommate, came out and started reciting this text about all the procedures and all her life goals and dreams without the lady even asking her.
Finally, her daughter is actually quite pretty... yet her mom's presence muted her completely. She was just staying there in the background nodding and not saying a single word. Actually she did not even write to my ad or text me. It was her mother acting as her (As a side note, such a personality can have quite some toxic effects on your children).
Anyways, leaving aside any judgement towards how that lady is as a person, I was very impressed after I had some time to think about it. So I am wondering now, how do some people manage to wield such power over others? Have you ever managed to do that?
Normally I would say it's all about confidence, but I am fairly confident and never felt like I had such power over others. Maybe it's that hint of hesitation?
