What does respect look like?

You can "respect" a person's abilities, actions, personality, who they are, what they are capable of.

Like, I'm 170 pounds. I would "respect" a 300 pound mans ability to beat my ass. I likely would avoid getting in a fight with him because I "respect" his strength as being superior to mine.

You can "respect" someones actions. I "respect" a soldier laying down his life for his brothers, or someone helping an elderly person cross the street, or someone standing up for what they believe in, because these actions are in line with how I try to live and act.

You can "respect" someones decision to do something god awful that you probably wouldn't do, like that guy who murdered his sons rapist on live television and got fucking probation or something. I don't normally condone murder, but I "respect" what he did.

Getting "respect" from women usually means they are attracted to you, or you have demonstrated a strong frame. Getting "respect" from someone usually means having demonstrated some quality that they also align, or try to align themselves with. Gangsters respect other gangsters, where as I may not. Fighters respect other fighters, because they know what it took to hone those skills. Armies respect other armies, etc etc.

With women, its more about them being in awe of finally coming into contact with a man they cant walk all over. Who LOOKS and ACTS and PRODUCES RESULTS like a man who has his shit together. Hes handsome, he takes care of himself, he dresses well enough, he has a decent job, hes educated, and he doesn't give a single fuck what I think because hes too busy RESPECTING HIMSELF over what I think to waste time on my opinions.

There are different forms of respect and how it can be shown, like letting an 18 wheeler take the lane on a highway, because you respect its killing power and strength, or a group of people letting you finish your sentence in a social setting without speaking over you because they respect your experience and station within the group.

Respect is a feeling. It can manifest itself through admiration but more importantly through recognizing boundaries and refusing to cross them. There are two parts to that. First, the person has to be astute enough to recognize the boundaries in the first place. This is part of why people with poor upbringings engage in disrespectful behaviors. They were literally never disciplined/socialized into recognizing other peoples' boundaries. The second part is a personal choice to act out the respect. Some people know what is right and wrong in interpersonal relationships, but choose to disregard respect for some kind of personal gain such as sex or embezzlement. Since you really can't nor should you waste the time disciplining these people yourself, the task becomes collecting a circle of respectful people and driving away disrespectful ones. You do this by being respectful yourself and attracting/leading others through example.
