Wrong. Women are literally hard wired to seek out high status men with resources, the same way we seek youthful, physically attractive females. There's nothing shallow about it.

And to answer your question, yes. If anything money is even more important to a woman who's making 100K a year. As you know women typically date up or across hierarchies, so at the very least you need to be her equivalent, but ideally you should be making more than her. So if a woman is making that much, you're immediately excluded if you're making less than her.

Money is a byproduct of power. Unless you have some other sort of visible power you’re not going to do as well as you hope.
