[Video]Why Do We Have More Boys Than Girls?

Here is a video I found which describes why more men are born than women.

The fact that the population has almost equal amounts of men and women proves that men are indeed "the disposable sex". (though one could argue that there are more women than men).

Keep in mind that I personally haven't done any research to see whether these facts are true or not.
