In most western countries, the potential danger of pedophiles are widely understood, while the greater potential danger of homosexuals are not well-known. Homosexual people may have intention to marry a straight man or woman for reproduction, money or immigration, which could cause huge harm. This is not something only happen in movie or book, but a common problem in relationship and marriage. By different estimation, there are about 5 to 25 millions straight-homosexual marriage in China, or 1-5% of all marriages, many victims don’t even know their partner is gay or lesbian.

The legalization of same sex marriage is great, but probably can’t reduce more than 5% of homosexual marriage fraud. Take Canada as example, many researches shows 3-5% people are homosexual, yet only 1.7% Canadians reported themselves are. Among 14.24 million married Canadians, only 48740 or 0.03% are in same-sex marriage. Where are the rest of them? They might be your neighbour, they might be anti-gay politician, they might be your partner, they might be you. I am not joking, some homosexuals don’t know they are not straight, and “once dated opposite sex” could not prove someone is straight.

Here is a checklist combined from Chinese and English websites, some could happen on straight people but you should be careful if too many are true:

His or her “value” is much higher than you, you feel extremely lucky to marry your partner without much effort.

Your parents-in-law abnormally want their child to marry, especially considering he or she isn’t too old for marriage.

He or she is not very religious or conservative, but refuse premarital sexual behavior while eager for marriage.

He or she feels nervous to gay or les topic, talks a lot about homosexual, or extremely homophobic.

There is a decline of sexual activity early in your marriage that never picks up again, although you’ve only been together for a few years. Meanwhile, he or she spend a lot of time on appearance.

His or her sexual performance is more mechanical than passionate with a lack of satisfying foreplay.

He or she erases the computer history on a regular basis.

Finally, I want to share about one of my close relative’s sad story. He was born in 1960s as a landlord’s descendant, a horrible title in commie era. Luckily he is quite smart and entered a top Chinese university after the resumption of college entrance examination. Years later he got offer from a graduate program in US, changed his major to CS, started to work and earned a lot of money. In early 90s he come back for marriage interviews, where he met his wife.

His wife was well-educated and very beautiful, her parents are professors and hope she could immigrate to US, everything looked great. My mother seen some strange behaviors, but no one could realize a great tragedy is coming. Several months after the marriage, the woman refuse to have sex with my relative, beat him regularly and invite her “close female friend” to live in their home with his money. My relative don’t understand, he thought he must did something wrong and try to fix his marriage, it was a waste of time and money. After about 10 years they finally divorced, then after another 10 years we know the true reason of divorce from another relative. His story is quite sad, but at least he is male so he have time to marry again and have children.
