Part of it comes to lifestyle choice. I'd love to have the devotion and and attitude that dogs bring but their neediness (having to go out for walks, wanting a lot of attention) is too inconvenient. Sometimes convenience has to take precedence over quality. I can definitely claim that as far as dating goes, as well.
