I'm a beginner to The Red Pill, and I've certainly noticed a lot of what is on here is true. One thing I've noticed, though - In The 48 Laws Of Power (Which I saw in the Red Pill sidebar) it says that the key to seduction of a woman is to inspire interest indirectly, by sparking jealousy, but also first by direct approach. The Red Pill approach is much more aggressive, though it utilizes some of the same aspects of contrast (On & Off) and jealousy. One of the main things repeated in The 48 Laws, however, is that direct power games have lost their power, so to speak. Everyone's so used to them that indirect games are the only way to obtain results. However, Red Pill Philosophy has a very clearly different approach to this.
The upshot of my question is this: How do you reconcile the teachings in The 48 Laws with the aggressive approach of The Red Pill? I want to apply TRP's teachings in my life, but trying to come up with a unified picture in my head is a bit hampered by this.
From the 48 Laws: basic to power is concealing your intentions, most people are open books, blurt out whatever they think and feel. The truth is much more likely to offend people. Instead tailor to people what they want to hear. Also, from Law 3: utilize a bland and inconspicuous front, that calls no attention to yourself. Great deceivers know that colorful gestures draw unwanted attention to themselves. It takes patience and humility to dull your brilliant colors, to put on the mask of the inconspicuous. Do not despair at having to wear such a bland mask, it is often your unreadability that draws people to you and makes you a person of power.
On a tangentially related note: I'm a rising junior in an American High School. To be quite honest, in middle school and even earlier in high school I was, for lack of a better word, a beta. I fell head-first for every power game in the book. How do I repair my social standing? The 48 Laws recommends associating myself with someone with a reputation that I want to have. Is this good advice? How do I apply TRP going into a university setting?
EDIT: The 48 Laws recommends The Mirror Effect - Mirror what your conversational partner thinks (Before they say it themselves - observe first to find out) and they'll immediately latch onto a kindred soul. Red Pill Philosophy says to be clear you're an outcome independent (DGAF), dominant man with distinct opinions. What's the middle-ground for 1) attracting women and 2) gaining power?
