Went apartment-hunting with one of my female "friends" today. We hang out occasionally, and I hooked up with her about a year ago (while she had a boyfriend, who I'll get to below). I found TRP right around the same time that happened, and underwent pretty drastic changes. I don't see her in that light anymore, but riding around with her today looking at a few places I got one of the biggest AF/BB confirmations I may have ever gotten in-person.

In typical solipsistic fashion, all she wanted to talk about was herself. Eventually she started talking about her relationship. Her boyfriend and her currently live together and share a room. She's known him most of her life, but clearly doesn't respect him as a man. "We've known each other so long, I can't imagine what my life would be without him." Awww, how sweet. True love. But wait- I find out that he's paying all of the rent on their place so she can pay back her student loans faster. She then goes on to say that as a couple, they're "not romantic," whatever that means (no tingles). I'm guessing a deadbedrooms scenario where the occasional duty sex happens once a month, if that. I was going to ask her why they were still together if their relationship wasn't romantic, but thanks to TRP I already knew the answer.

A year ago when I was in the anger phase, I would've gotten mad, and maybe even have considered her a terrible person. Now I know she's just being a woman, and he's letting her. Her intent is not malicious, she's just doing what mother nature programmed her to do- extract resources from men. AWALT.

The thing I'm trying to ask myself is in what world I would actually WANT to provide for a woman- without any guaranteed exchange of resources, I'm rolling the dice, because as soon as you step into that provider role, your desirability as a sexual partner decreases. Now you're part AF, part BB/resource/tool. Not gonna happen with me. Not in America, anyway.
