Hamstering is the childish behavior of women unwilling to accept truth, a manifestation of cognitive dissonance.

The woman in this story is suffering from serious, medically verifiable mental illness.

Not even remotely the same.

A man doing/thinking anything similar would simply be labelled a criminal and locked away.
