I work for one of the top tech companies in the US right now under contract to hire. If I get let go do I just tell potential future employers "I saw the opportunity to work under contract with a big company for the holiday season as extra support for their staff and wanted the experience"? I'm wondering how much the company would tell them like if I was a contract-to-hire employee, or just that my contract had ended. I'd like to be able to file for unemployment. But unemployment takes 10 weeks to kick in. Within those 10 weeks, not paying a lot of rent right now, I could study for and obtain my A+ certification and get a job doing hardware. I wouldn't make as much money but I imagine after a year or two of phone support I'll get bored of it. I'm also not the fastest talker and don't have the best memory so eventually they might want me to be meeting a certain skill level threshold in regards to number of tickets I'm taking and closing, and I may just not complete them. Either way, if I can get hired perm it would be an ideal company to work for while I'm dealing with some medical issues and I was hired from a 15 minute phone conversation and asked to join their team within a week of my interview, and the recruiter told me that he had other candidates waiting to interview with them and they picked me.
