I have a small business and a marketing side job. I have a basic social circle. Due to my work I meet 1-2 new people (working professionals, business owners) every day.

I'd say 80%+ of people I meet are just dumb or got to their positions by pure luck. Also these connections don't lead to anything other than more business for me. I play the perfect courier and it has worked out so far.

I am disgusted by average people. I understand they are cogs in the wheel and they need to exist in order for others to prosper, but I just can't stand wasting my time on them. They pull you down and take up your mental space with their average lives and bullshit problems. Moreover a lot of people get very jealous and have a crab bucket mentality.

Even if I meet a person with a lot of ambition and relevant social/work/business experience there are certain aspects that make building a honest connection very difficult:

  • Building trust is hard. Especially nowadays when most people are trying to maintain a fake high status persona
  • You can't share the full extent of your failures, it's a huge turn off even for men (believe me I've already made this mistake multiple times)
  • Most people are very solipsistic and only care about themselves.
  • 90+% of population are blue pill to their core. You just can't talk with them about certain things.

I broke off every "true" (as I mistakenly thought) friendship that I had. Those "friends" called me a psychopath, an opportunist, a heartless motherfucker and they don't want to speak with me. Fuck them. In last 2 years I tripled my income and they're still stuck with their shitty 9 to 5 jobs.

I have one female friend that I can share my thoughts, books that I read and my business moves with, and although she supports me, it feels like talking to a wall. She doesn't have anything to say most of the time and her work is very different from mine. At least I'm not going crazy and I have someone to share what's going on in my life with, but obviously there's a huge possibility she's just trying to be around me looking to branch swing when she's about to hit the wall.

Anyone can relate to this situation? How do you manage it? Did you get lucky with your friends? How do you handle moving forward on your own?
