Preference for physical attractiveness cannot be measured using our method.

This is a joke of a paper. the "observed" preferences were nothing more than another questionnaire, this time rating the attractiveness of people in pictures and trying to somehow induce certain behavioral traits (like sense of humor? and altruism? from somebody's face pic JFL) from these pictures.

I'll give an example to highlight the absurdity of this paper: they concluded that men actually care a lot about a woman's wealth when considering a one night stand (JFL) because men marked the attractive female faces as wealthy. Is this not just the halo effect? That you think hot people are just generally more wealthy?

Do you really think if that very same female face came to a dude, and told him that she was living paycheck to paycheck, the dude would be instantly turned off to have a one night stand with her?

The methodology of this study is a joke, I am willing to bet my life that these results cannot be replicated. There was no correlation between declared preferences and "observed" preferences because because the observed preferences was nothing more than the almost random speculation of what an attractive face behaves like.

Finally, these questionnaires were done through facebook with no verification of the subjects' honesty JFL.
