I’m starting to realize why great people are written about in history books. They were truly something else. The intelligence and depth of understanding that some of these people so far surpasses the average person that it is truly awe-inspiring to think about it. These famous people from history were so dedicated, so in tune to their environments, so intelligent that they sliced through all of the bullshit that normally permeates human existence and were able to intensely focus on ideas or things that changed the world.

I want this. This type of existence opens is so far removed from my normal life that it almost seems like a different type of reality. I want to be considered somewhat in this conversation, but i know that it is probably not going to happen. My idealistic dreams and scenarios are most likely a fantasy. I am not that intelligent, I don’t matter that much, and I might not change the world. You know what though?

That is okay. I don’t need to be written about in history books and validated by other people to make my life a success. I just need to be validated by myself. If at the end of my life I look back on everything I’ve done, ignore other people’s opinions of my work and am satisfied, then I will have achieved my mission. That starts by setting goals, going for them and saying fuck it to the rules.

We don’t need any guidance on how to achieve my dreams, we can find out for ourselves. We can be leaders. All of us. Experiment in social situations. See what happens if you go talk to that attractive woman in the middle of the day and act like a cocky bastard. It doesn’t matter. We all are going to die anyway, so why the fuck not.

There is no instruction manual on life, but growing up we are fed so much bullshit about what we should do and what we shouldn’t do that it can make it seem that way. There are lots of ideas out there by people that have found things that work for them, but that’s just it, it’s just for them. Find out what works for you, make your own rules.

We need to stop reading the “how to” manuals and start fucking writing them.
