What do you guys think? I really believe that there are many dudes out there that will read the sidebar, read Rollo's books, workout, etc., yet still be hopeless. I think some guys are just far too ugly, have terrible social intelligence, naturally introverted, non confrontational and all that stuff. A lot of it can be attributed to genetics (which I believe is grossly overlooked as far as how our personalities turn out), upbringing and life experience as well.

When I was going to university and working on my teaching degree, I did a short internship at the local elementary school. I remember observing the kids at recess (they were in the 5-8 age range). And after a few months of seeing the same hundred or so kids for almost 3 months, I started to notice something. They were already forming social hierarchies. There were the top dog boys that everyone respected/feared and obeyed and had their little entourage. Then there were the average kids that just played ball or tag (many played in pairs or small groups most of the time). Then there were the outcasts. These kids were either off to the corner alone doing their own thing or had their own little group which had their own caste system (leader, follower, and peasant/lowest of the low). And the top dog kids already felt a sense of superiority at that age and seemed to have a natural disdain for the outcast kids and tended to act aggressive verbally and sometimes physically. The boy and girl groups had differences but were similar in a lot of ways.

Looking back at my childhood, I remember noticing this as well. And I'm starting to believe that a lot of what we are was kind of set in stone since out earliest days. Sure, some of the outcast kids grow up to be good looking/intelligent people and improve. And some of the "alpha" kids grow up to be a mess. But I really think they are the exception. Thoughts?
