A lot of this post relates to me, but the question itself is a broad one not directly about my situation, so I felt it should go here instead of in /r/asktrp.

I know experience is the best way, and I'm planning to get a lot of that soon, but I'd like to know if I can find any supplements so the start isn't so rough. I've never really been one to talk to girls outside of class at all really except at parties where everywhere talks to everyone, and I want to change.

For context, I'm 16 and have just finished KS4 (Entering the UK's equivalent of High School in September, so there will be a lot of chances to meet new girls then). I was extremely self conscious for the first 2-3 years of this school so I made a lot of bad first impressions, and these are the only girls I see on a regular basis. Even now I am pretty terrible at talking to girls and although I'd say I'm decently funny around my friends, it's often very situational. I can make jokes out of situations/events, but I'm not very good at pulling humour (Or decent conversations with girls) out of thin air. I'd say I have a pretty low SMV at the moment, and am working to improve that, but since I've got a big break for a while (Will only see girls at parties & prom) I figure this is a good time to try and improve in every way I can.

To make an long story short: Are there any resources that I can use to be more comfortable, etc, conversation with girls which isn't experience? Stuff on being more funny would also be good, but I think I'm decently funny around my close friends so its again probably due to not being comfortable enough. I know that I should speak to girls as I do to guys (To some extent), but I find it pretty difficult for some reason.

I understand if there's no way worth going through other than experience, but if there is then I think this is the best place to go about finding it.
