She posted a Facebook story saying "Let's normalize not calling women crazy when they react to disrespect". I told her that this is wrong. The only correct reaction to (continued) disrespect is to exit the interaction/ relationship, not to pull a Crazy Bitch Routine. If you are a heterosexual man with ex girlfriends, or have heterosexual male friends with ex gfs, 99% chance you know what the Crazy Bitch Routine is, but for the rest of you: this is when a person (man or woman, but most frequently women) throws public tantrums, threatens to hurt themselves, breaks their partners stuff, etc to cooerce or punish their partner.

On a side note: the person is acting "crazy" and not In control of their emotions, but I think that this is behavior is generally calculated and intentional.

My sister says that a woman calling out disrespect gets her labeled as crazy and that she is frequently gas lighted and her feelings invalidated. I myself have been a victim of and witnessed other men and women being victimized by the Crazy Bitch Routine and think that this should NOT be normalized or justified.

I told her that nobody calls a woman "crazy" if she tells a man that she finds his behavior/ words offensive or leaves a man because he doesn't respect her (the best way, in mind, to handle disrespect). She says that she IS called crazy for simply calling out disrespect. I happen to know that she has a history of crazy behavior, so I am skeptical.

Anyways, that's not what I cut off contact with her over. I cut off contact when she screenshotted the whole conversation and posted it to her FB with the caption "Real Life Example of White Male Fragility".

Her initial Facebook post I figured was just insensitive and ignorant. Screenshotting that conversation with that caption is what I found disrespectful. Furthermore, she had a long rant about being gaslit and her feelings being invalidated, all while invalidating my feelings and my point. Why do her feelings and experiences as a woman need to be validated but my feelings and experiences as a man do not?
