I'm at a bit of a bypass on what I should be doing in terms of fitness goals, and how they tie into my long term health and happiness.
I''m 32 years old, and have been going to the gym regularly for about two years now. I'm confident in my physique, and have been getting positive feed back from girls. A few months ago, I joined the local rugby club, in a desperate attempt to socialize and bond with men my age in the small town I just moved too.
I'm really new and have a lot to learn, but they only train once a week, and the seconds team I'm apart of has an incredibly low turn out for practice. I set myself the goal at the beginning of the year to become a starting player(not a bench player) by the end of the year, but they only train once a week, so it's really hard to get motivated and put my all into it.
On the other hand, I've been motivated recently by a colleague to make some gains at the gym, and have since then started to make some progress. It's made me really motivated to try and make as much progress as possible, and I'm quite tempted to push it as far as I can go. The gym I go to is ran by an ex Mr.Universe contestant, so it has a a strong body building scene, so I'm tempted to dive in and take part in that community, plus, I really want to see how 'big' I can get at least once in my life time.
I could throw myself at the gym 4 days a week and restructure my eating and dietary requirements and see some major gains over the next couple of months, or I could focus more on the cardio for rugby, or try to find some balance between the two, not sure if cardio and body building mix.
The gym and body building is something I can definitely throw myself at right now, but I feel Rugby might offer a better social life in the long run.
Any recommendations on what to do in this situation?
