I'm no expert,

But my heart is telling me that when you focus on yourself,

Making sure that you are constantly improving on a daily basis.

Everything else in life just seems to fall in place.

You can only control yourself and nothing else, true power comes from within.

When you are confident that you are the best version of yourself, currently. When you accept yourself as you are today.

Trivial remarks such as you stated, go unnoticed.

I imagine you become the stoic figure everyone wants to be.

If you are bigger, smarter, and have higher SMV than your friends then they should follow you anyway.

If they aren't then there is still something beta about you, or enough alpha about your friends that you can't bump up to the top.

It's like when you go back to see your parents and siblings and you are the youngest kid again and they talk to you like you are their kid. It's hard to get that training out of your head and be an adult. It can be done, but you are never quite the same person around your parents that you are around the rest of the world. They have an expectation of their position and of yours and we tend to agree with that unconsciously.

So, either ditch the ones who stand in your way, or pick a fight with them about something that bothers you. If they insult you or fail to defer to them to do what you have to do to get your way.

No one with power willingly gives it up. So, you have to figure out how to put them in their place, but obviously do it without destroying the group or your friendship. If you've been friends for a long time you can usually transgress a little and they will get over it.

Also, leaders lead. So, that means you make the plans next time. Arrange a VIP section. Pick the bar/club and gather up all your friends. You don't have to pay for it but you should initiate the outing and put some work into getting others to come out.

No one can follow you unless you lead.

Also, if you've taken any kind of martial training as part of your development then try horsing around with some of the guys who think they are better than you. If it's all "fun" then you can manhandle them enough to show them you are tougher without damaging your relationship. Men respect other men who are stronger than them. Play wrestling or sparring is a good way to demonstrate that.
