On Christmas, some families have a tradition of going to the cinema after a day of feasting and celebrating. This is not the film for them. If the 'R' rating doesn't dissuade them, then the content of "Promising Young Woman" will. The plot follows the anti-heroine, Cassie as she wreaks revenge on the male sex. No doubt men will be portrayed as either evil, rapists or killers or all three.

The Ebert review (link below), reminds us that as she takes revenge, Cassie is a victim of the evil patriarchy, and not a criminal. "Shitty men" get what they deserve right? I haven't seen the film, and barring a natural disaster and my seeking refuge in the theater where its screened, don't expect to. Frankly, get enough of male bashing, stereotyping and slurs of men in reality. If it were only just in a movie and not almost all of society?

Isn't it a coincidence that on Christmas day, "Wonder Woman '84" will also premiere? So women audiences can go see Wonder Woman for the appetizer, and then Promising Young Woman for the main course. I don't want to know where they'll go for dessert, after four and some odd hours of male bashing.
