When many men who do assume the feminine role of support for a working spouse or have entertained the idea of ditching their stereotypical masculine role of becoming a primary breadwinner for a caretaking role, with some part time employment do experience a lot of hostility and derision from many women and are massively penalised in the dating market? Personally, I would love to be a caretaker for my hypothetical family, even if I had to work part time. Im not someone who especially loves the rat race, and I love cooking and cleaning and I would be willing to support a working spouse. Yet men like me are almost seen as sexually repellent and lazy, even by quite a few progressive women who would be for women assuming alternative gender roles.
Ive known a few sub men and those who arent too keen on the rat race, and happen to have preferences for female gender roles, and we all know that we arent particularly seen as the greatest catches, and despite the claims from the progressive crowd, our preferences are seen as huge liabilities. Ive now come to the realisation that RPers may be right about the rigidity of the male gender role, enforced by women and society and have begrudgingly given up an dreams of becoming a house husband for my high flying corporate waifu.
This has been backed by many studies, and in spite of the rise in female primary breadwinners, theyre still in the minority and as I understand from those studies, most couples in those situations didnt intend for women to become primary breadwinners. From my own experience, they wives in these arrangements harbor some resentment towards their husband or see it as a temporary situation that will be ameliorated once their husbands find a better paying job. Yet why does the belief that its mens fault for not adapting to the rise of the corporate high flying woman still persists, when we all know that women arent so keen on men assuming a supporting role, even when its rationally the best choice for couples in those situations?
