Another post here reminded me of this case from 2018. A female recruit was being pushed by her training officer to show aggression and anger. Instead she just did what she thought he wanted her to do, rather than what she was expected to do.

The nuance might seem difficult to grasp, but... Like, when she is told to show her "war face", she reacts by doing what she thinks he wants her to do, rather than doing what is expected. Meaning, she tries to show a face that he'll like. A man would show a face of pure aggression and anger. Because that's what you expect from a "war face".
The same goes for the stump on the ground that is supposed to be an enemy. She tries to do what she thinks the training officer wants her to do, rather than let that anger from him picking on her, loose and let the stump have it.

Earlier this year the Army launched its latest recruitment campaign focusing exclusively on women and ethnic minorities.
Using the slogan, ‘This is Belonging’, potential soldiers were told that the Army was now a touchy-feely environment where they could express themselves and show weakness.
'The series of animated TV adverts were criticised for being too politically correct.

There are about 7,000 women serving as regular full-time soldiers.
Controversially, women are also expected to start training later this year to join infantry regiments.
Critics say it could cost lives on the battlefield because women are not suited to roles which require them to kill the enemy at close quarters.
