And how do you balance them?
For several years my hobbies (mostly mountain climbing) were my purpose and it's reshaped my life given me a larger social circle and made me attractive. However now I feel like the time has come to move on, still do them occasionally, and focus on making money. I work a standard 9-5 job so burning 1.5 weekend days to fuck off in the woods consumes a lot of my after work free time.
I know some people have hobbies like wood working where they can make it their purpose and sell stuff on etsy. For me there's not really the same path without a career switch and it's just not my interest to take it to that level.
I'm having some trouble making the transition from active weekends to indoors weekends. I need to almost regress a little bit because the old me would have been fine staying in all weekend to tinker on the computer. I keep telling myself that I need to do this for the short term and it will pay dividends in the long term, I'll still participate in my hobbies and social circles, just less now, but I keep squandering my free time not working and being active.
Also while I don't really need help dealing with this, I've noticed that some of my less redpilled friends get kind of squirrely if I don't make time for them like I have some obligation to them. In one case the person is useless and a negative influence and I've all but cut them out. In the other it's more interesting because they're still a beneficial part of my life, but I think I understand what girls have to go through when dealing with their nice guys and orbiters.
