Hi, I’ve been struggling to create new and maintain relationships with people.
When I get older (28 now), I find it’s more difficult to build fresh social circles. You build social networks mainly from schools and works. When you are young you have more time to make friends from other activities or places, but as you get older you don’t have much time. You spend time mostly at work and the gym, you go back home cook your dinner, shower, and bed time.
I so want to have more friends. I’ve been improving my values by reading more books, meditating, learning instruments, travelling, and learning photography. But I’m stuck with my same old social circles and it’s so hard to get out. I have a few, but good and close friends that I can share and talk about anything and not to feel lonely. But still I think to improve your SMV significantly, you need bigger social circles.
I’ve tried to talk to new people, but despite of how much fun we’ve had, they always ended up as “single serving friends”. I don’t know how to move further. How do you keep contact with them? I find it’s super awkward to add their social media after first hanging out with them, like it’s not enough, we re not that close to ask for fb/insta to keep contact with them.
How do you make people like you when they first meet you? How do you ask for their contact? How do you maintain those relationships ( when you have too many) when you re too busy with work and life?
Any recommendation would be great, I want to learn.
