Just a thought I’ve been having. As I grow up (24 now) I’m just noticing how unhappy the vast majority of people are. We may pretend to be happy most of the time, but at the end of the night, are we really at peace and in true bliss? No. I really don’t think so.

All the friends and acquaintances I’ve made, all the people I’ve gone to school with and worked with, young and middle aged and old. No one really seems like they’re loving life. They do what they have to do to get by and keep busy. Some few are doing things they enjoy for a living, which definitely helps. Older people seem happier in general but still not completely in love with everything about life.

Everyone is lacking something it seems. Lacking proper health. Lacking a job they’re cool with. A person to truly love who truly loves them back. An ultimate purpose in life.

Almost everyone has things that prevent us from being completely happy. Broken families. Broken love lives. Illnesses. Bad jobs. Financial troubles. Addictions. Even those who are living relatively high quality lives, they’re really just keeping themselves occupied and busy with good things. I find that I am a very intense person and I need to have things to do all the time. If I have nothing to do, I start to feel very bored and alone and sad.

At the end of every night I think most people go to sleep still searching for a higher purpose and belonging. At least those with the capacity to think this way do. And I honestly find this sad.

I don’t know what the solution is or if there is a solution. But I really feel this way and I hope that other people can maybe relate to what I’m saying.
