The overwhelming amount of REPORTED victims are women. If you find out how many of your guy friends have been legitmately hit by their girlfriends or spouses you find that physical abuse is pretty much 50/50. Guys just don't report being physically abused, because best case the cops mock and ignore you and worst case the woman flips it on you and you get arrested.

And if you begin considering other forms of abuse outside of physical (such as socially isolating, gaslighting, manipulating, financially abusing, etc) you will see that women are MORE often the abusers than men.
