I had a discussion with a friend. He has traveled around the world, and he told me that he thinks in America girls are the prize, and they are used to tons of guys hitting on them, pedestalizing and all for a chance to get laid.

Meanwhile, in other countries, a lot of people have a low opinion of women. Most families want a son over a daughter since they need the son's help them make money. In other countries, being a women's studies major is not going to help much. A guy who is an Engineer or Computer scientists will matter much more in society.

I remember I was at a hotel in downtown New York and there was this high school girl who worked at the front desk. She started bad-mouthing this old guy who worked on security. I was very shocked by her behavior since, in my country, the more senior a man, the more respect he gets. What's even more shocking was the this was a chubby girl, and she was talking as if she was Miss Teen USA. She was saying, "This guy is so old! He can't do anything, right?"

This whole scene is shocking, but I think this country has lost a lot of its values and embraced subversive values. Therefore, I should not be surprised.
