I (25) chose the tech school route and have been working as a carpenter since I was 20. I’ve worked independently, for companies of less than ten, and up to 50+. Im proud of the work I do and am grateful for the skill set I’ve acquired that I can take anywhere. Most of all I’m thankful for the men of all walks of life I’ve encountered. That I’ve taken mentorship and life lessons from. Nothing has cleared the fantasies from my mind more than looking at the possible future in the face day in and day out. Hard men who break their bodies every day for women who show them nothing but contempt for their “dirty construction worker” husband but have no problem reaping the rewards of his work. Men twice my age breaking down on long truck rides from how messed up their lives are and that this has been their only peace. Divorced men a decade past retirement who can’t stop working to pay alimony. Men so subservient they think their daily abuse is normal. I can go on and on about the different kinds of damaged men I’ve worked with and for. And when they all say to me I need to find one now before the good ones are gone, all I can do is look at them and say “they already are.” This June I will be celebrating my 4th year of celibacy and the continuation of the goals that I’ve been working towards that are growing closer with each passing day. Keep going your own way kings. Nothing can stop a man whose heart and mind are set on something.
