Brothers, today I turned in my notice to leave my 9 - 5 (was more like a 7 - 7). The company I was working for was Western European. You can imagine the focus of HR, and the company was being ruined by soft management..

My boss has given his health, working 80+ hours a week for decades, because he is a good guy and truly passionate about the field. He willingly takes on more and more responsibility, yet he has never been thanked or rewarded. His dedication is mocked by the Communications majors (we work in a technical department) above him, as a power play to assert their control. They aren't even well spoken, but they are female.

Truth be told, I liked him and the job was interesting. What drove me was the thought of wasting any more of my time and health so some PowerPoint pusher can take credit, while my opportunity window to pursue my actual goals is ever shrinking...

I'm in my mid 20s and I have quite some savings. I don't spend money, because hyper-consumerisim is a social disease. My estimations are that I could do nothing for the next 20-30 years and be fine (assuming no leech, banshee or kids).

I'm not sure what my next move is, but I'm going to pursue all of the things I want to while I still can. Climbing, dancing, art, programming, music, martial arts, cooking, etc.

How did we get so far from a life where men are encouraged to create and be great? Well I know how. How did we let the plantation become the factory it is??

The time is coming where the plantation fails. Consumer markets are saturated. The entire global economy is held up by record debt. THEY fear US, because WE hold the power through our actions.
