I’m not 100% sure if this will work but I’ve been thinking about this:

Set up an LLC
Name you, and other family members you trust as beneficiaries of LLC
Transfer house deed to LLC
Pay “rent” to LLC
LLC pays the mortgage. It’s needs to make a “small profit” so it can be considered legitimate business so the rent needs to be above mortgage/taxes/insurance

If he divorces, wife cannot take anything from him since he isn’t the owner of the house. And, since he tied his family members in the LLC, it is a legitimate business that makes an income.
