A concise field report concerning experiences from my personal life on holding frame. Three sections concerning the ideas of (ignore, amuse, and assert).

Section I- Ignore

I.I; Go about your business.

One guy at my work was a little beta douche who loved to hear himself talk, so he favored cutting people off or talking over them. Because he didn’t care what I had to say, I typically avoided casual conversation with him, as it was a waste of time.

Whenever I did engage him and he tried to talk over me, I physically turned my back and resumed my work duties, ignoring everything he said. He usually shut his cocksucker right away. True interaction is a two-way dynamic, which leads me to…

I.II; Walk away from bullshit.

This strategy worked wonders with my female supervisor, who had the worst leadership skills I’ve ever witnessed. One of her deep character flaws involved yelling at people over anything, e.g. small mistakes, when she got confused, when someone disagreed with her, etc.

One time, I made a small mistake, which led to my coworker making a bigger mistake; although, the outcome bared no serious fallout. My supervisor began to chastise me in a raised voice and condescending tone. After she made her point of what to do correctly in the future, I acknowledged what she said and then walked away while she was still power-tripping.

Caution: You must use the other two approaches as well because always ignoring a shit-test could make you seem beta or avoidant/non-confrontational, which will eventually make people treat you like shit.

Section II- Amuse (Yourself)

II.I; Sharp wit/ comebacks.

A different coworker of mine was comparing various people to WWE wrestlers (don’t ask me why because I don’t recall the context). He compared himself to Stone Cold Steve Austin and stated that Stone Cold was cooler than the Rock, right before he compared me to the Rock. I looked at him with a confident smile and said, “At least I still have a career.” He stfu right there.

II.II; Love yourself.

If you’re happy with yourself and who you are/ where you’re going, no one should be able to shake your sense of self-worth.

One of my managers was fat, but he was so confident and happy with himself that anything negative would “roll off the back like water”, in his own words. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME: This guy would flirt with the female clients so hardcore, his game was to the degree that if I repeated some of the things he said, my ass would be fired.

Because of his outgoing and confident nature, and their attraction to him, the female clients would test him constantly. Time and again, he would ace their tests. I shit you not, I walked into a storage locker room and one of the female clients was hand-feeding him a snack.

Even though he was fat, he was a total stud. If he can have chicks clamoring over his cock, you have no excuse. Work out and improve your game to add SMV to yourself.

Section III- Assert

I.I Stand up for yourself.

My female supervisor (the same one listed in I.II) and I were bickering over something trivial (might’ve been popcorn) one day at work. She decided to win the argument by making crude/ demeaning statements about my balls and my sex life in an attempt to emasculate me; although she is not privy to either. Instead of throwing an insult back at her, I played her off with a neutral comment.

Later, I explained the situation to her immediate manager and the head manager (two guys). Even though I wasn’t there, the head manager informed me that they sat her down and had a lengthy ‘talk’ about several of her inappropriate behaviors and she left with her head sagged. After I summoned the administrative powers to come to my aide, she was much more bearable in our consequent interactions.

Caution: Opting to aggressively assert yourself every time a shit test comes your way could make you seem unapproachable, which will isolate you. The point of holding frame is assertion of self, but aggressive assertion, as listed in the previous paragraph, needs to be used when the circumstances fit.

Summary 1) Ignore petty horse shit or walk away. 2) Sharpen your wit and love yourself. 3) Stand up for yourself and hold frame.

Demonstration of sharp wit: Bill Burr masterfully gets the girl when a cockblock tries to ruin his night.
