What do you hunt, deer? Do you do all the processing/butchering yourself?

I love archery, shoot my recurve every chance I get. But I live near NYC there is no chance of me hunting or breaking down an animal.

Soon I'll be moving to FL, possibly rural, and if I go rural I will definitely take up bowhunting.

I hunt small game, usually rabbits, dove, pheasants, and squirrels, but don't much like sitting in the cold up a tree or in a duck blind. Most of my meat comes from fishing. I can put a few hundred pounds of fish into the freezer every year and enjoy every minute of it.

I am out here slinging sticks. It is not really an economical solution in most cases. If you have land available to hunt, time, and are able to harvest multiple animals it is possible. The experience is priceless, and as long as I am able to hunt, the activity will consume me.
