This is a city im eyeballing to move out of California. This and cleveland. Reason is that cali is toooooooooo expensive. I make 65k a year and can barely afford a studio. 35% is just pure taxes that I dont even get to see of my income (no halth care either). Lol I want to buy my own home and im not kidding. The homes i could afford are below 200k. I shit you not. Tge cheapest home i found was 235k and it was trash. Literal trash. No cabinets. Holes in walls roofs floors. Rats and trash bags all over. Cracked and leaking Foundation. All utilities were off ajd the city designated it as unihabitable (so go and pull permits in the area of 70k just to begin work on it as to make it livable).

What are some of the thibgs in there that make it angreat city for you? Visit the liberty bell?

I was there in sept. There is a place called reading terminal station (?). Its not a train station is actually a food court. Best pastramy sandwich ive ever had.

Go to Dimmick's in the Reading Terminal Market for a roast pork sandwich with broccoli rabe and provolone. Go to Dirty Frank's at 13th and Pine for a beer or seven. Walk around Society Hill, and Elfreth's Alley, which looks just like it did during the Revolution -- people still live there. Go to Penn, and walk around Locust Walk a little. Benjamin Franklin himself founded it. Look at Pennsylvania Hospital -- one of my kids was born there, and the inscription on the cornerstone always brings tears to my eyes --

(for its inhabitants were publick spirited)

The Barnes Foundation has an incredible collection of Impressionist art. And for bonus points, burn one in the smoking lounge at Holt's Cigars. I lived in Philly for years. Great, great city.
