Yeah, I learned this back in high school: Even women who ARE your "friends" don't like being friendly touched or even HUGGED by you if you're not a guy she finds attractive or if you're socially awkward.

I'd know, I was one of those kids back then. Any girl I became friends with would be totally physically comfortable with other guys, but I was the one they didn't want to hug goodbye or anything like that. I never felt physical contact with anyone, really. I wasn't terrible looking and I was pretty fit, but I was HORRIBLE at socializing, and that probably put 'em off a bit.
