It’s true. I had many restaurant jobs as a teenager and unfortunately, sometimes I would draw the short straw and have to clean the restroom. The women’s room was worse than the men’s 99 times out of 100.

If you have any doubts, gentlemen, consider the stories of elderly people living on their own:

1) How many stories have you heard of old men dying in their homes, and nobody knew, because from all outward appearances, nothing would indicate there was anything wrong? This denotes a living condition that is civilized...so civilized that nobody had any reason to suspect anything was amiss.

2) How many stories have you heard of the police, paramedics, and social workers breaking into old women's homes and finding the place overrun by animals, vermin, piles of garbage, hoarding, with the woman smearing obscenities on the wall in feces? It happens with disturbing regularity.

Gentlemen, whenever you get the shame artists trying to scare you about "dying alone," understand that this is a woman's fear that she is trying to make your fear. For dying alone is, for a woman, such an absolute nightmare scenario that she cannot ever imagine anyone who might disagree.

But for a man, those last years might be the only time in his life where he, at long last, need not answer to anyone. He can have those last years the way he wants it, without having to put other people first.
