A buddy came to visit me in NYC from out of town, so after dinner, we went to one of the top-rated rooftop bars in the city. You can google it, it's "230 Fifth Rooftop Bar"; it was my first time there.

It's very popular and famous.

The views of the city is breathtaking so my buddy and I grabbed a couple of beers and we wandered around the 2 floors.

The downstairs has a dance floor and it's pretty dark. The upstairs is lit and has those breathtaking views.

I have not been in a bar in a very long time, but this is what I noticed:

  • a lot, and by a lot I do mean a fuckton of women, most of them in group of 2 and they were visibly looking to meet guys, or at least have guys buy them drinks
  • I'd say the ratio of women to men was 2:1
  • most of the guys were foreigners, mostly asian, lots of geeky nerds
  • very few tables with people on dates/double dates
  • quite a few cougars eyeing anything that was male and breathing. LOL.
  • a few older men all dressed up in expensive suits, gold watches, looking for some marketable female
  • a lot of THOTs, women who would take forever to take multiple selfies in order to then post on social media; some had their simp taking photos for them, photoshoot-like where they would see and criticize every shot
  • most everyone was either glued to their phone or had their phone in their hands (not in the pocket or purse) ready to check ... whatever.

I enjoyed my beer, I enjoyed hanging out there with my buddy, I enjoyed the views of the city, and I enjoyed my informal survey. All in all it was a sad scene.
