Not sure if this fits here or not but I need some advice. Ever since I was in elementary school, I can never be fully empathetic towards anyone (been betrayed too much) and its been pretty much traveling with me ever since now.

I'm current working at a full time job (can't disclosed for safety reasons) where empathy is heavily needed. I don't have any other full time job options that will accept me currently (in Georgia) and I can't lose this job because this will help me get experience that I can use as a buffer to get better jobs in the future.

Do I really have to ingrain the fake it til you make it mentality of empathy or are there actual lessons that can help me prevent this (lack of empathy) from ever happening again?

From friends / acquaints betraying me / never having my back / talking mad shit about me from earshot area to adopting the red pill with open arms (still struggle a bit to not be fully cynical towards life as well), I'm having a hard time dealing with this.

I've also looked up what could've been the factors that led up to me lacking empathy and it mention something about Trauma. I do have a couple of scenarios in my life where I was traumatized by my folks / being bullied for so long years ago. So that may be a contributing factor.
